Mike Smith Chrysler Jeep Dodge Ram invites you to compare the 2020 Jeep Wrangler vs 2021 Ford Bronco side-by-side. Review the performance specs and features of this popular matchup and discover which is best for you.
When talking off-road SUVs, there aren’t any more influential names than the Jeep Wrangler and the Ford Bronco. The Jeep showed up back in 1944 when it was commissioned as a military utility vehicle in World War 2. Over time the first Jeep grew into the outdoor icon we know as the Jeep Wrangler. Ford created the first Bronco to compete with Jeep in 1965. Intended for use as an off-road vehicle, the Bronco was the premier Sports Utility Vehicle. Things have changed since then, and while the Wrangler’s production has been continuous, this will be the first brand-new Bronco in 25 years.
Both the Bronco and the Ranger provide powerful engine choices with serious off-road credibility. The all-new 2021 Bronco Wildtrack utilizes a 2.7L EcoBoost 6-cylinder engine that supplies 400 lb-ft of torque and 310hp. The Wrangler has a larger 3.6L V6 that produces 285hp and 260 lb-ft of torque. While the Ford Bronco might seem to have an edge, Wrangler just might have a trick up its sleeve. Jeep just released the Wrangler Rubicon 392 Concept to measure driver interest. This Wrangler will feature a 6.4L V8 that produces 450hp and 450 lb-ft of torque.
Even though both the Wrangler and Bronco resemble their automotive DNA from prior years, they both feature modern-day features not available on the first models. The 2021 Ford Bronco Wildtrack has LED Signature Lighting, LED fog lights. removable doors and a removable top. The 2020 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon Recon has similar features like LED DRL, LED fog light, LED brakelights, full LED headlights, 17-inch aluminum wheels, removable doors, and a convertible roof. Inside, both feature cloth seating, USB ports, dual-zone automatic climate control, and touchscreen stereo systems.
The technology utilized in both off-roaders is just as impressive as their performance. Both SUVs feature Standard Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, Anti-Lock Brakes, a Wi-Fi hotspot, available Navigation, and more. The new 2021 Bronco offers available Ford Co-Pilot 360 Safety Suite while the 2021 Wrangler features an available 7-inch Driver Information Digital Display. This impressive display not only features the basics like vehicle Speed Control, speed, and Navigation, but it also has an Off-Road mode that will present the pitch and roll of your Wrangler.
